I took Mia to a nearby off-leash, unfenced dog park. I tried to catch some video but the batteries died in my camera:( It's pretty difficult to capture her on the move. I will have to charge the camera and try again this weekend:) Enjoy!

I got to take Mia to work with me today since the students were out. I think she enjoyed herself but was ready to come home and nap on the couch.

Updates

I know it's been a while since I've updated. One of my goals for next year is to do a better job of posting and updating the blog. Mia is doing great - a bundle of energy for sure! She makes me laugh though...everyday. I am planning to compete her in January in conformation and rally. We will hopefully earn her first 2 legs of her novice rally title and gain some much needed experience/practice in the show ring (some points would be nice but it's fine if we don't). We have a lot of practice to do - especially on stacking and distractions. For right now I am just looking forward to the two weeks I have off for the holiday. Mia and I will continue to train in rally class and competition class every week as well as work in some time for conformation practice. These are some of the pictures from the last month. Enjoy!

Mia and I traveled 3 1/2 hrs to Jackson Springs for a Learn to Hunt Day with the Tarheel Weim Club. Mia isn't quite ready for NSD but she showed potential. She even honored another dog on point while she was out there.

Mia's First Show

Mia had her show debut today at the Hanover Kennel Club's show here in Wilmington. Mia was the only weim so she got to compete in best puppy in group and best in group. She placed 4th out of 4 in the puppy group and didn't win anything in the overall group but I was so pleased with how she did. Considering it was almost 90 degrees and she had to compete 3 times, I think she did beautifully. No worries though...we will kick butt in obedience...soon;)
